Monarch- Independent Living

Welcome to Monarch Independent Living

Our mission is to improve the lives of people with developmental disabilities by teaching them the skills they need to live more independently.

OUR PURPOSE AND GOAL

Monarch’s Independent Living Skills Program goal is to teach and train people with developmental disabilities to become more independent then they currently are. Individuals receiving training by Monarch are referred to us through the San Andreas Regional Center. Individuals are either living on their own, striving to live on their own, or living within the family home but looking to be as independent as possible within their family unit.

Monarch is committed to empowering individuals to make their own choices by expressing their preferences and reaching their own goals.

We provide teaching and training as often and for as long as it is needed. Teaching and training takes place in the community and in the home. Services are not limited to traditional domestic skills and may include training in all areas of a person’s life:

  • Community and home safety,
  • Community and social involvement skills,
  • Volunteer Work,
  • Relationship and peer development,
  • Budgeting and bill paying,
